Why should you add Plums in your diet?

Plums are sweet and sometimes sour in taste.  It is said that  plums first grew in china and now there are more than 2000 varieties  all over the world. Eating a plum a day do wonders to your body.
Nutrients :
Raw plums are 87% water, 11% carbohydrates, 1% protein and less than 1% fat.  A  100g of plum contains 12% of vitamin C.
Benefits:
Relieves from constipation
It has high amount  of fibre which is insoluble in water. Hence it prevents and cure constipation by speeding up your bowel movement.
Rich in Antioxidants:
  • Plums are rich in polyphenol antioxidant which protects our heart and pancreas.
  •  It also protects our bone health. Anthocyanin  present in plums is an antioxidant which reduces the inflammations thereby protects us from chronic diseases
  • Antioxidants keep our skin healthy.
  • It reduces the bad cholesterol (LDL) there by protecting the Heart. 
How to eat?
Plums are very nutritious food. They are excellent source of vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants.They are easy to incorporate in your diet. You can take it raw or it can be made into juice. But do not take too much per day. 200 to 250 ml juice per day  is only recommended. Adding a little pinch of cinnamon powder enhances its taste. Consume it regularly to see the results.
