In our Yoga class the first thing
we practice is 2 minutes sacral chakra meditation. This 2 minute meditation
gives us instant calmness and peace of mind. It prepares our body physically
and mentally to start doing yoga. We do only 2 minute meditation due to lack of
time. But just 2 minutes meditation is not enough to harvest the benefits. We
must slowly increase the time of meditation to see excellent results.
What is chakra?
Chakras are energy centres of
human body. They are the centres of various types of marvelous powers. There
are seven main energy centres in human body. They are linked together starting
from the root to the top of the spinal cord.
The lowest chakra is the root
chakra and the highest chakra is the crown chakra. Each chakra corresponds to
different aspects of our physical health and mental health.
If all these chakras are open and
aligned, we will be successful in physical and emotional aspects of our life. But
if any one of these chakra is blocked, we struggle to achieve our goals.
What is Sacral chakra?
The sacral chakra is the second
chakra of the seven main chakras. It is related to creativity. It is related to
our artistic output, our imagination and potential for personal growth.
Where is the sacral chakra located in our body?
The sacral chakra is located in
the centre of the abdomen, a couple of inches below the navel. It is also
called Swathistan chakra. Sacral
chakra is responsible for our creativity, our artistic work, our
self-confidence, our romantic relationship, our satisfaction and pleasure in
life.
When sacral chakra is open, we
feel dynamic, stimulated and full of ideas. But when sacral chakra is blocked,
we feel boredom, lack of creativity, low self-esteem, jealousy and we get
easily addicted to unhealthy behaviors.
What are the physical side effects of blocked sacral chakra?
Blocked sacral/swathistan chakra

4:
Close your eyes and visualize a spinning orange circle in the location of your
sacral chakra.
Step
5:
Feel yourself warming up in response to the visualization.
Step
6:
Do this as long as you like. Then open the eyes.
Initially you may find it
difficult to concentrate and meditate and the mind runs here and there. So set
the timer in the mobile phone and meditate for the set time.
For example you can set the time
for 1 minute and do 1 minute sacral chakra meditation. Then gradually increase
the time to 2 minutes. In this way we can gradually increase the meditation time.
