Traditional Home made sambhar powder/Safe and Healthy Sambhar powder

  Always it is good to eat healthy foods. You are what you eat. In recent days we have started buying Rasam powder, sambhar powder and other masala powders from shops. But not all the brands are safe. So its good to go traditional.  And yes, I have started making all powders at home of my own. Now a days my mom too use to prefer my home made powders. Today Iam here with sambhar powder. Lets see how I made it. Ingredients : 4 table spoon Corriander  15 to 20 Red chillies 2 tablespoon Toor dhal 2 tablespoon bengal gram dhal  2 tablespoon urad dhal 1 tablespoon cumin seeds 1 tablespoon fenugreek 1 tablespoon pepper. 1 tablespoon Asafoetida 4 or 5 strands curry leaves How to make Sambhar powder? A Health drink for sound sleep/yellow milk

  Yellow milk or golden milk is a drink which can be consumed by anybody before going to bed. This milk gives us sound sleep. Only in recent days I've started taking this milk. Initially I started drinking just by adding only turmeric powder. This turmeric powder is home made turmeric powder. Then later to add sweetness to the milk, I started adding powdered jaggery or Honey. Also in this drink, I have added cardomom and cloves which gives a rich flavor to the milk. Lets see how I prepared: Ingredients:(1 nos)  1 cup of milk 1/2 teaspoon turmeric 1 tableapoon honey 2 cardomom 2 cloves How to prepare yellow milk? Boil milk in a milk pan When milk boils, add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 2 cardomom, 2 cloves. Boil it until the raw smell of turmeric disappear. Switch off the flame and transfer the milk to a cup.   In my childhood, I was not aware of this vegetable Ivy gourd/ kovakkai. We started making kovakkai only after knowing that it is very much good for diabetes. Here I have made ivy gourd as a simple stir fry and I have also sprinkled coconut scrapings which is very common in down south. Lets see how to make it. Ingredients : Ivy gourd..250g 1 finely chopped onion 3 green chillies Coconut scrapings...1/4 cup Salt as required. Omlette in kuzhipaniyaram pan

Egg omlette paniyaram While using kuzgipaniyaram pan for cooking, I feel like a kid playing with a toy. In this blog I used this pan for making egg omlette. It was funny and Interesting to make egg omlette in kuzhipaniyaram pan. Lets see how I made it. Ingredients : 2 eggs 1 finely chopped onion 1 chopped green chilli 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder Salt as required. How I made this egg omlette paniyaram? Add all the ingredients in a bowl. Beat the mixture with a spoon or egg beater. Now heat oil in each mould of the kuzhipaniyaram pan. Spoon the beaten egg mixture in each mould and cook for 2 minutes. Tomato gravy for idli and dosa/Easy and simple gravy

 This is a simple and different method of making tomato gravy. I got this recipe from my MIL. Its her method of making tomato gravy which I tried and came out fantastically. I used to make coconut chutney, tomato chutney for dosa Idli. But it was boring to repeat these chutneys and hence tried this method. This gravy is very simple and easy that any body can try out. Lets see how I made it. Ingredients : 3 tomatoes 1 onion 2 green chillies 3 tabespoon sambar powder 2 cups of coconut milk extracted from 1cup(200g cup) grated coconut.. Seasoning : 1 tablespoon Mustard 1 sprig curry leaf 5 tablespoon coconut oil. How will you make coconut milk? Take 1 cup grated coconut in a bowl. Add 2 cups of water in the bowl.
