What are Anti-oxidants?

What are anti-oxidants? Anti-oxidants are substances that protect our cells from cell damage. It neutralizes the free radicals . These free radicals destroy the body cells and cause cell damage. How is cell damaged? Cell damage is caused by oxidative stress that releases free radicals in the body. These free radicals  are unpaired electrons which scavenge the body cells to get an electron to become a pair. How do Anti-oxidants protect our body?     Anti-oxidants stabilize the free radicals by donating electrons to the free radicals and making it stable and thus it protects the cell from damage and reduces the risk of diseases. How does it help you? Cabbage is rich in vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6 and folate. It is rich in dietary fibre and also contain powerful anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants protect our body from cell damage caused by free radicals. It also has anti-inflammatory property. Since it rich in vitamin C, it has anti-ageing property too. Ingredients: 2 cups of shredded cabbage 1 chopped green chilli 1finley chopped onion Cumin seeds ½ teaspoon Curry leaves 3 tbsp of Gingelly oil/ coconut oil Salt to taste. Spice powders: 1 tbspn chilli powder 1 tbspn coriander powder ½ tspn turmeric powder. How to make? 1.     Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, finely chopped onion, curry leaves and chopped green chillies. Benefits: Cauliflower is a bunch of florets connected by a thick core.
